Truly among the more unique Sages native to California is Salvia apiana, or White Sage. An evergreen perennial shrub reaching to about 5 feet tall and wide. It gets it's name from the nearly white foliage which is also highly fragrant. Once established, this plant needs almost zero supplimental water. Make sure the soil has good drainage for this plant to thrive. Plant in full sun. Lightly colored lavender flower spikes appear in Summer. Native to Southwest US and Mexico. One of our favorites!
