The Dwarf Karo is an incredibly diverse woody perennial that can tolerate full sun or shade, drought-tolerant, tolerates seacoast conditions, and has a nice formal predictable growth habit. The leaves are a dusty green with a light gray-green understide. Use this in conjunction with flowering perennials or deciduous shrubs so that when the bloom season is over or the other surrounding plants have lost their leaves, this tride and true evergreen will always provide a nice plush foundation year round. Height to about 3 feet tall by 5 feet wide. Pittosporum 'Nana' has a burgundy color flower in the Spring but is very inconspicuous however, and should be used for it's foliage qualities, not it's blooms. Sometomes sold under Pittosporum 'Compactum'. Note that this plant contains mild toxins. Hardy to 25 deg. F. Native to New Zealand.
