Horsetail is a cool modern looking reed-like plant with green sectional upright stems. Black bands separate the sections creating a rich contrast. Equisetum maxes out around 5 to 6 feet and will spread vigorously, so consider the area you wish to plant in. It tends to look best when mass planted in contained areas. Maintenace-wise, Equisetum looks great when cut even along the top and yields a crisp clean modern look. Do not plant around livetock or animals that may eat this plant as it contains toxins when ingested. Native to North America. Hardy to 18 deg. F.
