Cyperus papyrus

Papyrus is considered a 'bog' plant, meaning it can withstand constant moisture at it's base and root system.  It has long slender stems with a firework-like head.  Plant in either full sun or part shade, but the plant will do much better when protected from the sun a little.  Cyperus papyrus can reach up tp 12+ feet tall and will produce a clump up to 8-10 feet wide.  If frost occurs, this plant may get damaged and need to be cut back to the ground to encourage new growth.  Use Papyrus near ponds and in wet conditions.
