Ribes viburnifolium is a wonderful upright ground cover with evergreen foliage.  A wonderfully versitile plant that can be grown in sun or shade, and is one of the select few plants that is suitable for growing beneath Oak trees being that it can take dry soils, given it's well-drained.  Ribes viburnifolium has a very open growth habit with long medium brown stems with oval leaves, and will bloom in Winter into Spring.  It will get about 3 feet tall by about 5 to 6 feet wide.  Native to California and Baja.  Hardy to about 20 deg. F.
